A Southern Baptist by birth (you can still hear the South in my speech) and an Episcopalian by choice, I began working part-time for St. Luke’s in January of 2020 as the Finance Manager. I love working for fellow Episcopalians! I also work part-time for Presbyterians as the Director of Operation of the Presbytery of Olympia, the Presbyterian version of the Diocese. My work feels like a study in ecumenical church life. A strange attribute in a bookkeeper, I have a graduate degree in Old Testament Studies from Regent College in Vancouver, BC. I am a licensed lay preacher and lead an UnLectionary Bible Study on biblical narratives that aren’t in the Lectionary at my home church, St. John’s, Gig Harbor. I have two college-age kids attending university on the East Coast who I adore. As a toddler I learned to walk holding onto the wooden pews at Seddon Missionary Baptist Church and I have been in the church ever since. My faith is an elemental part of who I am, not just something I believe. It’s my joy to serve my brothers and sisters at St. Luke’s!
